The 2013 edition of the European Football Championship U-21 will take place in Israel. The host country is directly qualified for the final phase. Four other nations were racing for the organization of the final phase of the competition: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, England and Wales
The final phase will be held in June 2013 in Israel. The qualified teams are: Israel (as host country), Spain, Italy, Russia, Netherlands, Germany, England and Norway
The teams are divided into two groups of four in which they compete once. The group stage runs from 5 to 12 June 2013. The top two teams from each group qualified for the semi-finals in which the first Group A facing the second Group B and vice versa.
The official ball for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship was unveiled during the draw in Tel Aviv on 28 November 2012. The ball has the same blue and white colours as tournament hosts Israel and its design features the same thermally bonded triangular patterns as the adidas Tango 12, match ball of UEFA Euro 2012
